Hello lovelies! It just keeps getting better and better! Check out more of our personal, exclusive interviews with the amazing women behind the Phoenix Fashion Week brand. These two seemingly quiet storms are responsible for the critical media aspect of Fashion week and the beautiful styling that happens backstage before the models hit the runway.
LAUREN PFINGSTAG.
Meet Media Director of Phoenix Fashion Week! Get insight on her awesome views on fashion week, her ideas on success and overall motivation!
Everyone has to start somewhere. What was your first job within the Phoenix Fashion week organization?
I first started with Phoenix Fashion Week back in March of 2010, in my junior year as a Marketing student at ASU. I assisted on the Operations and Branding Teams, but focused mainly on supporting our Branding Director, at the time, with setting up signage, guest check-in, etc. My first major responsibility was leading the Style Villa and Silent Auction at Phoenix Fashion Week at the W Scottsdale.
What ONE thing in your role is your least favorite and something you could do without?
It's definitely the nature of the beast, but being in event planning, the anxiety leading up to the event when all you want is for it to just get here, I could do without that. However, the anxiety pushes us all to be the best at what we do and presents a challenge that we all can handle and makes us better both personally and professionally.
Define SUCCESS in reference to this Year’s Fashion Week? What made it successful and what can you measure to gauge that?
This year, more than ever, Phoenix Fashion Week's focus was on our Emerging Designer Bootcamp, and our team couldn't be more thrilled at the success of it this year. Not only with introducing a new layer with 3 Emerging Designer of the Year winners, partnering with EVINE Live to sell these designers live online and their shopping channel, but having the co-founder of True Religion Jeans, Kym Gold, recognize the platform for what is is: next level business education for emerging designers - that is unmatched for our market and industry.
What motivates you to continue your work with Phoenix Fashion week and Fashion in Arizona?
My teammates and especially Brian Hill continue to inspire and motivate me on a daily basis. I also love the certain degree of unpredictability the job has. While it can be challenging at times, it's incredibly rewarding, and I wouldn't have it any other way, and I know my teammates would say the same.
Who inspires you the most in fashion? Anyone who stands out?
Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, Kendall Jenner are just a few of my style inspirations lately. However, JCrew and Jenna Lyons have been consistently inspiring me other the years to keep my wardrobe filled with classic basics and staple pieces, while mixing it up with trendy items to experiment with and keep my style fresh.

MEET DYNELLE RODRIGUEZ.
Style Director of Phoenix Fashion Week! Take a peek into her exclusive perspective on her take on Phoenix Fashion Week, what inspires her, and where she sees her future heading!
Everyone has to start somewhere. What was your first job within the Phoenix Fashion week organization?
I was introduced to PHXFW as a sponsor for 5 years in the hair and makeup area. After developing a relationship with Brian and the team, I was asked to join the leadership team 3 years ago, and became the Style Director within that time frame.
What one thing do you LOVE most about your role with Phoenix Fashion week?
I love the opportunity to meet people all over the valley that care about fashion and propelling Phoenix forward. This includes stylists, models, designers, bloggers, hair and makeup freelancers, and guests that just love fashion.
What ONE thing in your role is your least favorite and something you could do without?
Cleaning up after every fashion show! It's not the most fun and glamorous part of the show, but it has to be done!
Define SUCCESS in reference to this Year’s Fashion Week? What made it successful and what can you measure to gauge that?
There are the trackable things, like tickets and Style Villa sales. Just as importantly, I measure it based on guest, team and sponsor feedback. Creating and continuing relationships is very important to our team. I think it says a lot about success when our partners, designers and guest are involved year after year
What motivates you to continue your work with Phoenix Fashion week and Fashion in Arizona?
I love the PHXFW team, we are like family. I enjoy working with them year round. Producing PHXFW is so challenging, and it is such a feeling of accomplishment every year when it is wrapped. I love that feeling, and even more to share that with my team-mates.
Who inspires you the most in fashion? Anyone who stands out?
Most recently, Kim Gold, Founder of True Religion. I had the opportunity to attend her business seminar during PHXFW. She is business aggressive, forward thinking, smart, and I don't think will ever stop being relevant in this industry. My favorite quote she shared was "Be the first to first, not the first to second."
