Hello Lovely Fashion Birds!

Fashion is our space to thrive, connect, build and harness on our true creative passions. As you all know, I place heavy significance on connectivity and the ability to tap into groups and organizations that relate to what you, what you love, what you stand for, and especially, what you are working towards. This week, I wanted to highlight a very important organization that has continuously been recognized for their positive impact, legacy, and bright imprint on the Fashion industry, nationally and globally.... Introducing: Fashion Group International!

The Fashion Group International is a global, non-profit, professional organization with 5000 members in the fashion industry including apparel, accessories, beauty and home. Their mission and goal is to be the pre-eminent authority on the business of fashion and design and to help its members become more effective in their careers. To do this, FGI provides insights on major trends in person, online and in print; access to business professionals and a gateway to the influence fashion plays in the marketplace. They also aim to advance professionalism in fashion and its related lifestyle industries, provide a public forum for examination of important, contemporary issues in the business of fashion, present timely information regarding national and global trends that have an effect on the fashion industries and encourage men and women to seek career opportunities in fashion and related industries. FGI also provide activities and programs which enhance networking skills and encourage interpersonal contacts so as to further the professional, social and personal development of members. 

A key element in what The Fashion Group International encompasses, is the significance of education. The FGI participates by offering scholarships, awards, internship programs, and career counseling services in the fashion realm. They host an array of seminars, workshops and educational activities on an international level. Alongside education, FGI places heavy significance on public service as well. Providing for the community, serving the community through service and education are pillars to this organization. 

The foundation of Black Russian Label comprises of inspiration, acceptance, self-confidence, strength and education. We believe education embellishes growth... knowledge supports execution, in essence, organizing the stepping stones to one's development. Connecting with the right organization, maintaining a learner's mindset, and finding and participating in the authentic and genuine desire to help others' and their community, can truly amplify oneself. And that is exactly what this organization places their believes and actions on- community, education, connectivity, and development.
